Board of Health

The District Board of Health is the governing body for Granville Vance Public Health. The board is a policy-making, rule-making, and adjudicatory body. It is comprised of 15 members representing both Granville and Vance Counties.

One county commissioner is appointed from each county. The county commissioner members appoint the remaining 13 members, divided between the two counties. The Board is legally required to include: one physician licensed to practice in NC, one licensed dentist, one licensed optometrist, one licensed veterinarian, one registered nurse, one licensed pharmacist, and one professional engineer.

All representatives must be residents of Granville or Vance county and serve a three year term.
