Friends in Granville and Vance counties,
Opioid abuse is a serious public health problem. Recent data shows that nearly 2 million Americans have a prescription opioid use disorder, and deaths from overdosing on synthetic opioids and heroin have shown dramatic increases over the last few years. We see the impact of these issues in our communities every day, so we are excited to be hosting a County Leadership Forum on Opioid Use on Tuesday, October 17, from 2-5 pm, at the Vance-Granville Community College Civic Center.
We hope you will spread the word about this important community event broadly. Our agenda will include elected officials, medical professionals, and representatives from public health, mental health and law enforcement.
