Primary Care is care from a doctor or nurse for the whole person. It is your first stop when something isn't right. Primary Care at Granville Vance Public Health also includes medication and counseling for mental health and substance use disorder.

What is a Primary Care Provider (PCP)?

A primary care provider is a medical professional who can help with many general health needs - physicals, diagnoses, treatment of diabetes, high blood pressure, rashes, depression, and more. PCPs can refer you to the right specialist when needed. Make an appointment today →

Family Planning Clinic

The Family Planning Clinic educates, counsels, and provides birth control methods to patients. Services are available from the first period until menopause, as long as patients have not had a tubal ligation or hysterectomy. All services are confidential, and we have an all-female staff with many years of experience in women's health.

Teens Welcome - All Services Confidential

Teens are welcome, either alone or with family members. Services for teens are confidential - we don't share any information. Our clinic is welcoming and comfortable for all clients.

Maternal Health Clinic

Granville Vance Public Health offers all pregnant women access to early and continuous prenatal care. This service is available to all women regardless of income. Services can be offered on a sliding fee scale. The maternal health clinic provides routine care including regular check-ups, prenatal education, laboratory testing, nutritional counseling, and breastfeeding support.

Maternal Health Warning Signs

Dial 911 or go to the Emergency Department if you experience:

  • Heavy vaginal bleeding
  • Vaginal fluid leaking
  • Decreased or no fetal movement
  • Chest pain
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Severe headache
  • Changes in eyesight
  • Extreme swelling of hands or feet
  • Fever
  • Fainting
  • Persistent or severe vomiting
  • Regular contractions not easing with rest or hydration
  • Thoughts of hurting yourself or your baby
  • Any other new or concerning symptoms

Vaccine Clinic

GVPH provides adult, adolescent, and childhood vaccinations. The goal of the immunization program is to promote public health through the identification and elimination of vaccine-preventable diseases like polio, hepatitis B, measles, chickenpox, pertussis (whooping cough), rubella, and mumps.
