It's flu season!

What are ways to prevent the flu?

Granville Vance Public Health wants to help you protect yourself and your family from the flu!

  • Vaccination is the best protection available
  • Wash your hands
  • Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze
  • If you are sick, stay home from work and keep your kids home from school if they are sick so it does not spread
  • If you do become sick with the flu, there are antiviral medications you can speak about with your doctor

The annual flu vaccine is the first and most important step in protecting you and your family from the flu.

The Multitasker - I'm way too busy to get the flu vaccine. You're too busy to get the flu. Make time to get the vaccine.
The Skeptic - I'm not sure the flu vaccine really works. The flu is guaranteed to knock anyone off their game. Why take those odds? Get the vaccine instead.
The Invicible - I'm healthy. I won't get the flu. Healthy people do everything they can to avoid the flu, and that means getting the vaccine.
